Nothing Phone 2a Debuts Globally and in India, Boasting Affordability and Signature Style

Tech company Nothing, led by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, unveiled its third smartphone today - the much anticipated Nothing Phone 2a. The device marks the company's first global launch event held in India.

Priced competitively starting at ₹23,999/-, the Phone 2A aims to address the affordability concerns raised by its predecessor. It retains the signature Nothing transparent design, available in black and white colour options.

Under the hood, the Phone 2a features the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and an innovative 8GB RAM booster technology, effectively expanding RAM to a total of 20GB. It runs on the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 and boasts the iconic Glyph interface with new lighting configurations and functionalities.

The Phone 2a boasts a dual 50-megapixel rear camera system and a 5,000mAh battery. It comes in three configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Analysts believe the Phone 2a will compete directly with popular mid-range devices like the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Poco X6. Whether it can carve out a significant market share with its unique design and software experience remains to be seen. The phone will go on open sale starting March 12th on Flipkart, with a special launch day offer dropping the price to ₹19,999/-.
